Perhaps you've heard that London had opened The Bunyadi restaurant some time back where diners can enjoy their vegan and non-vegan cuisine in the nude. Well, on July 29, a restaurant in Tokyo called The Amrita opened for business offering nude dining as well. The restaurant allows no cell phones and there is no electricity. The chefs cook with fire and light is supplied by candles. The furniture is rather homey style hand-carved wood and service ware is made of clay with flatware that is edible. The food is supposed to be free of preservatives and meals are served with organic wines. The staff is naked other than G-strings and made up of men with bodies that don't quit, however the chefs are dressed for safety reasons. If you are somewhat shy, there is an area for those who prefer clothes.

The Amrita boasts of an organic menu, however you might find that the entertainment may be the main feature. They have Chippendale-like dancers coming from America and Europe. If this isn't unusual enough, The Amrita placed a restriction on customer's weight, age and tattoos. In order to make a reservation, you need to be no more than 33 pounds overweight based on your height, under the age of 61 and have no tattoos. If your weight is in question, they will weigh you on the spot. So, The Amrita suggests that you know your weight because they will turn you away. You have to pay in advance so if hey reject your reservation, you will lose your money. Meal prices run anywhere from $112 to $563 per person. Sounds a little pricey to me!
