Yoga Stretches You Need When Traveling

If your traveling a lot this summer, trying to keep a healthy body and mind can be a challenge but it doesn't have to be. There are a few things you need to know to keep in shape and keep your nutrition on track. Luckily, summer brings about a bounty of fresh produce and the sun provides a myriad of outdoor activities for you to enjoy to make you healthy.
There are a few items you might want to carry with you in case you get an opportunity for an unexpected adventure. I have found that these three items are useful no matter where I go.

• Water moisturizer – Some people use a rose water spray to keep their face hydrated and I find that works well. I also use a product by Neutrogena called hydroboost which comes in a water gel form and it contains hyaluronic acid which helps your skin hold on to water. This is great to use all year long day and night. It soothes your skin and makes you feel cool. Try applying the hydrogel to your neck and shoulders as well. This stuff is amazing as it tends to get rid of wrinkles quickly.

• Protein powders -- This is a must have to keep you properly nourished. If you're not familiar with ALOHA products, you might want to check out their products. They have single portion protein packets that are very convenient and the powder can be added to a smoothie or if you prefer almond milk. This should keep you full and away from junk food.

• Shampoo – I don't know about you but I have baby-fine hair and it gets dirty easily. I have actually found that I can use dry shampoo to freshen up quickly and it really works. It even makes my hair appear thicker.
Now if you're like me, you probably need to get up and move around if you been sitting for a long time in your travels. I have three yoga stretches that I particularly l like to do and this helps get out the kinks. These can be done anywhere.

• Standing hip flexor exercise – Generally this exercise uses a platform but you can do it without it. Standing on one leg, bend your knee on the opposite leg such that your about to kick your bottom. Then take your hand and grab your foot of the bent knee. Arch your back and you'll find you're getting an incredible stretch throughout your body and you will particularly feel this in your hips. When I sit for a long time, my hips tend cramp up and this relieves that pain. Repeat this procedure for your other leg.

• Yoga for your shoulders – This is a shoulder stretch. Stand erect and place your feet firmly about hip-distance apart with just a slight bend of your knees. To get the shoulder stretch, move your arms behind you and interlace your fingers. Bend your elbows slightly and then bring your elbows toward each other. This can be a little difficult but well worth it. Begin bending forward from your waist and let your arms move upward. This does more than give you a shoulder stretch as it tugs on your hamstrings and lower back. I particularly love this for the lower back.

• Yoga for side stretches – This is great if you need to be sitting but it can also be done when standing. Either way it works. Place your arms over your head with your palms facing upward and interlace your fingers. Take a big breath which helps to elongate your back then breathe out while you bend to your right and hold position. Next you need to breathe in and return to the erect position. Breathe out while bending to your left and hold. Breathe in while returning to the erect position.
