Did you know that coffee was classified as a possible carcinogen back in 1991 by the World Health Organization (WHO). If you were a real coffee lover you probably didn't care. Nevertheless, coffee has been removed from the list. This beverage was believed to be connected to bladder cancers. A meta-analysis was done on more than 1,000 studies and the WHO came to the conclusion that no real link to bladder cancer was observed. Moreover, coffee appeared to provide some protection against liver cancer and uterine endometrium.

However, the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) released information on drinking coffee when it's very hot. There is a link between very hot coffee and esophageal cancer. There are certain areas around the world where hot beverages such as coffee and tea are served at temperature over 65 degrees centigrade or 149 degrees Fahrenheit. Scientists found that the hotter the beverage, the greater the risk for throat cancer.
